Pharmacology in Dentistry |

The objective of this course is to provide the practicing dentist with a clinically relevant understanding of the most important areas of pharmacology in dentistry. This course will review the clinical pharmacology of analgesics, local anaesthetics and their vasoconstrictors, antibiotics, drug interactions, drug use for the pregnant or lactating patient, and drug use for the elderly patient. A handout will be provided.

Dr. Daniel Haas DDS, PhD, FRCD(c)

Dr. Daniel A. Haas, D.D.S., Ph.D., F.R.C.D.(c), is professor and Associate Dean at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine. He holds the Chapman Chair in Clinical Sciences, is Head of the Discipline of Dental Anaesthesia and Director for the graduate program in Dental Anaesthesia. Dr. Haas is in clinical practice with the Department of Dentistry, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He is the 2004 recipient of the International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Pharmacology/Therapeutics/Toxicology. He received the W.W. Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education in 2005.
He has lectured internationally. |
