    Presenters Bio:

     Mark McNulty, BA, CFP, CIM

    Mark is a widely recognized expert in Canada on financial and retirement planning for dentists. For over twenty years Mark has been a speaker for the Ontario Dental Association and a regular contributor to Ontario Dentist, the journal of the Ontario Dental Association.

    In addition to multiple television and radio appearances, Mark has authored three books, the most recent is The $6 Million Dentist.


    Robert Mark, CFA

    Rob joined the McNulty Group after a twenty-plus-year career on Bay Street. Prior to joining the firm, Rob was a portfolio manager and investment strategist at two of Canada’s most respected investment firms, MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier (3Macs) and Raymond James Canada. Rob graduated from Queen’s University in 1996 and was awarded his CFA Charter (Chartered Financial Analyst) in 2003.

    Course Description:

    Peri-implant disease diagnosis relies upon a clinician’s ability to synthesize information from clinical and radiographic sources. Correct diagnosis is key for early detection of peri-implant disease. We will discuss case definitions for peri-implant disease and how to correctly interpret diagnostic variables (including bleeding on probing, probing depth, and radiographic assessment). Throughout this discussion we will compare and contrast how to interpret these variables at teeth vs. implants, as there are important differences. Finally we will different therapeutic strategies for treating peri-implant disease including surgical management.

    Learning objectives:

    • To understand case definitions for peri-implant health, peri-implant mucositis, and peri-implantitis
    • To understand differences in bleeding on probing at teeth vs implants
    • To understand differences in probing depth measurements at teeth vs implants
    • To learn key factors regarding radiographic assessment to differentiate peri-implant health vs disease
    • To learn key prosthetic variables influencing susceptibility to peri-implant disease
    • To learn about peri-implant disease treatment, including surgical management

    Presenters Bio:

    Dr. Matthew Galli is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery. Dr. Galli completed his DDS at University of Toronto and his Periodontics specialty training at the University of Michigan. His Master’s thesis involved comparison of conventional and sleeveless guided implant surgery. Dr. Galli has authored or coauthored over 20 scientific publications, many of which are published in the highest-impact factor journals in periodontics and dental implantology. Dr. Galli is a member of the Canadian Dental Asssociation, Ontario Dental Association, and American Academy of Periodontology and is also a proud and active member of the Halton-Peel Dental Assocaition. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics and dental implant surgery in Mississauga and Milton. Dr. Galli is also a clinical instructor at University of Toronto in the Implant Proshtodontic Unit clinic where he mentors graduate residents teaching dental implant surgery.

    Course Description: Heaven Can Wait teaches First Aid and CPR courses across Ontario. Paramedic David Goodman founded Heaven Can Wait in 2005. His career as an emergency responder was cut short when he suffered a back injury while trying to save the life of a 20-year-old. David created First Aid and CPR programs that are easy to follow, user-friendly and will enable you to feel empowered when dealing with medical emergencies. All of Heaven Can Wait’s instructors are Emergency Services Workers. The WSIB of Ontario, the Federal Government of Canada and the Heart and Stroke Foundation approve all of Heaven Can Wait’s First Aid and CPR programs.

    Learning Objectives:
    – CPR for adults, children and infants
    – Symptoms of cardiac arrest and stroke
    – Medical emergencies in the dental office
    – Rescue maneuvers for partial and completely obstructed airways
    – How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

    This course is suitable for all dental staff.

    Fees: 
    Free for HPDA members 

    Staff of HPDA members - $75 + HST

    Non-HPDA members - $149 + HST
