Course Description:
Predictable aesthetic outcomes in anterior implant dentistry depend on the accurate transfer of peri-implant soft tissue contours to the dental laboratory. This hands-on course provides clinicians with a practical, step-by-step approach to capturing the emergence profile and matured soft tissue architecture of an anterior implant restored with a provisional crown.
Participants will fabricate a customized impression coping and take a conventional open-tray impression using polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) material, with a focus on accurately recording tissue contours developed during healing and provisionalization. The clinical rationale for custom impressions in the anterior zone will be reviewed, emphasizing their role in achieving optimal aesthetics and restorative precision.
In addition, participants will capture a digital impression of the same implant site, allowing for direct comparison between conventional and digital techniques. This side-by-side evaluation will highlight the advantages, limitations, and clinical considerations of each method in aesthetically demanding implant cases.
