Synopsis
Achieving predictable esthetic outcomes with dental implants often requires careful management of the extraction site and surrounding tissues. This lecture will explore treatment approaches for preserving and reconstructing implant sites to support long-term functional and esthetic results.
Through a series of clinical cases, participants will see how prosthetically guided digital planning helps determine the most appropriate treatment approach, including immediate implant placement with provisional restorations, ridge preservation when immediate placement is not possible, and reconstruction of sites with significant bone and soft tissue deficiencies.
Cases involving large infections and failed implants will also be presented to demonstrate techniques for site reconstruction and revision. The goal of this presentation is to help clinicians better understand what is possible with modern implant therapy and how thoughtful treatment planning can improve outcomes in both routine and complex cases.
Learning Objectives:
After attending this lecture, participants will be able to:
- Recognize clinical situations where ridge preservation, immediate implant placement, or staged reconstruction may be indicated.
- Understand how prosthetically guided digital planning can assist in treatment decision-making.
- Identify techniques used to preserve or reconstruct soft and hard tissue architecture for implant therapy.
- Appreciate treatment options for managing complex implant sites, including infections and failed implants.
